Volunteer Vacancies

We are lucky to have a team of dedicated volunteers, who come from all walks of life, who support GARAS through a range of roles. Our Volunteers say that volunteering at GARAS is immensely rewarding. If you are interested in giving your time and skills to make a positive impact on your local community, please see the vacancies below. Volunteer ESOL Teacher in clients’ home(s)

Do you hold an English teaching qualification (TEFL, CELTA or other)? Do you have a couple of hours to spare during the daytime to visit a family’s home and teach the adults English?

We currently have a vacancy for someone to teach ESOL in a family’s home. For more information please read through this role description. This role will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Volunteer Welcomer – Mondays

Are you friendly and personable, with a willingness to serve and enjoy making people feel welcome? We have opportunities for someone like you to help in our drop in: being the first GARAS face that people see as they come for advice, and ensuring that they are comfortable as they wait. You will be good at offering refreshments and keeping the waiting list in order.

Volunteer Offering Transport Support

Sometimes we have a client who needs to get to an appointment, move house, or needs transport for another reason. If you would like to help someone in this situation, have access to a vehicle, time, and a clean driving licence, we would love to hear from you.
