Our Mission

At GARAS (Gloucestershire Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers) we offer support to those seeking asylum in Gloucestershire, welcoming them when they arrive, advocating for them in their daily struggles, supporting them if they face being sent back as well as helping them adjust to their long term future if they are recognised as refugees.

Volunteer Welcomer – Mondays or Fridays

Are you friendly and personable, with a willingness to serve and enjoy making people feel welcome? We have opportunities for someone like you to help in our drop in: being the first GARAS face that people see as they come for advice, and ensuring that they are comfortable as they wait. You will be good at offering refreshments and keeping the waiting list in order.

We currently have vacancies for Welcomers on a Monday and a Friday. As each of these roles are different, please read the role description for the relevant day.

For more information about the Monday Volunteer Welcomer role, please read through this Welcomer role description (Monday)
